Set in the picturesque farmland outside of Daylesford is the site for this working farm house. An open u-shaped footprint presents two distinct faces. Towards the courtyard the building is formal and solid. A grid of nine ginko trees are aligned with openings in the fabric of the building, for carefully framed glimpses into the courtyard. Outwards facing towards the farmyard, the building is highly textured and adopts a less refined farming vernacular.
The client expressed a keen interest in the analogue design process. We worked closely with them, using predominantly hand drawn presentation techniques during the early stages of the project
